Margube – a consultancy specialising in sustainability – and ATuAire by Iberdrola are launching a strategic alliance to accelerate the energy transition and engage businesses in Bizkaia, Álava and Gipuzkoa through real cases and efficient solutions. In a context marked by climate urgency and increasingly stringent regulations, cooperation between stakeholders is more necessary than ever. With this initiative, both organisations combine capabilities to provide practical solutions, connect technical knowledge and make it easier for companies to move towards a more sustainable and competitive model. The initiative is designed to offer comprehensive support, allowing organisations to address decarbonisation in full: from the initial assessment to implementing measures and ensuring the profitability of investments. The goal is clear: reach more companies, support them in their transformation and demonstrate that decarbonisation is not only necessary but also profitable.

As a first joint action, three business events will be held – one in each historical territory of the Basque Country – focusing on how to turn the energy transition into an opportunity for growth and economic return. During these meetings, mechanisms such as Energy Saving Certificates (CAE), grants and other financing options available to companies will be presented.

This initiative integrates two key areas to effectively address the energy transition: Margube contributes its expertise in decarbonisation, carbon footprint calculation and its role as a verification body for energy savings within the CAE system, accredited by ENAC, while ATuAire by Iberdrola brings technical capability to design and implement efficient energy solutions, with a particular focus on the electrification of consumption and technologies such as aerothermal systems.

Under the slogan “Breakfasts to activate profitable energy transition in the Basque Country”, the companies launch Net Zero Activate, a series of business events across Bizkaia, Álava and Gipuzkoa with a clear objective: to show that decarbonisation can become a competitive advantage. These breakfasts are designed to bring companies practical cases, applicable solutions and financing opportunities in an approachable and hands-on format, supported by analysis and expertise from industry specialists. Attendees will learn first-hand how to implement energy efficiency measures, electrification and emissions reduction, as well as how to transform these actions into profitable investments using instruments such as CAE and various funding lines.

Both organisations share a common purpose: supporting companies in their energy transition while ensuring the profitability of their investments. To this end, the agreement will focus on facilitating access to mechanisms such as CAE and other financing options, enabling organisations to turn sustainability into a tangible economic opportunity. This alliance represents a significant step towards a more competitive and sustainable business fabric in the Basque Country, where decarbonisation ceases to be merely a necessity and becomes a genuine growth driver.
