Iberdrola España thus reinforces its role as a strategic partner to the industrial sector.

Iberdrola España and Gestamp have signed a 10-year renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) for the supply of 660,000 MWh of electricity to several of the multinational’s plants across Europe. Gestamp specialises in the design, development and manufacture of highly engineered metal components for the automotive industry.

The partnership reflects both companies’ commitment to a safer, more efficient and sustainable industrial model, based on the electrification of operations and production processes.

The PPA covers 34 MW of installed capacity and will enable Gestamp’s facilities to be supplied with 100% renewable energy—80% wind and 20% solar—certified through guarantees of origin.

This agreement allows Gestamp to secure a long-term supply of renewable energy at a fixed and competitive price, in line with its strategy to enhance cost stability and long-term visibility. It also represents a further step in the company’s contribution to the decarbonisation of the automotive supply chain.

For its part, Iberdrola España continues to expand its PPA portfolio, reinforcing its role as a strategic partner to industry. The company has recently maintained its leading position in the European PPA market for the third consecutive year, according to the Pexapark Renewables Market Outlook 2026 report.

These long-term agreements form part of the Iberdrola Group’s strategy—of which Iberdrola España is a member—to foster stable partnerships with major customers, advance the electrification of the industrial and business sectors, and contribute to a self-sufficient, secure, competitive and sustainable energy system capable of meeting growing demand.

In Spain’s automotive sector, the company has signed additional agreements in 2026 with a 10-year term, covering 50 MW of installed capacity and the supply of one million MWh of 100% renewable energy.

Javier Imaz, Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) at Gestamp, added: “This agreement marks a significant milestone for the company, representing another step forward in our efforts to implement more sustainable production processes focused on electrification, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. All of this forms part of Gestamp’s ambitious sustainability strategy, which aims, among other objectives, to continue contributing to the decarbonisation of the automotive supply chain.”
