ATuAire and Margube are collaborating to help companies in Álava benefit from public funding under the Álava Innova–Descarboniza 2026 programme, open until Monday 16 March.
The two organisations support companies in calculating their carbon footprint and designing and implementing decarbonisation plans.

ATuAire, a company of Iberdrola España specialising in comprehensive solutions –financed up to 100%–for the decarbonisation of heat through electric heat pumps (aerothermal energy), is collaborating with Margube, a consultancy specialising in sustainability and an accredited verifier under the Energy Savings Certificate (CAE) scheme. Through this collaboration, companies in Álava are offered the opportunity to begin their decarbonisation journey by calculating their carbon footprint and preparing an Emissions Reduction Plan, while maximising the available funding in the Basque Autonomous Community.

Companies in Álava currently have a strategic opportunity to advance in sustainability and energy efficiency thanks to the Álava Innova–Descarboniza 2026 grant programme, which supports projects aimed at reducing emissions and improving organisations’ energy performance.

The Álava Innova–Descarboniza 2026 programme, open until Monday 16 March, subsidises part of the external consultancy costs associated with these projects, as well as internal project costs and investments in machinery or energy efficiency improvements, such as process optimisation, energy consumption reduction, electrification, or technological upgrades. Funding is awarded through a competitive selection process, with projects evaluated and scored according to their quality and scope.

Companies can access different levels of funding depending on the score obtained. Projects scoring between 50 and 79 points may receive up to 30% of external consultancy costs, 30% of internal costs, and up to 20% of investment costs. In addition, decarbonisation projects scoring more than 60 points may benefit from an additional 20% on top of the subsidy granted.

For projects scoring 80 points or more, the intensity of the aid increases, allowing up to 40% of external consultancy costs to be financed, while maintaining up to 30% coverage of internal costs and 20% for investments. This represents a significant opportunity for companies to accelerate their energy transition.

Many of these initiatives may generate Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs), a mechanism that allows the energy savings achieved to be monetised, thereby reducing the overall cost of energy efficiency investments.

Through the collaboration between ATuAire and Margube, companies benefit from comprehensive support throughout the entire process. This includes calculating the organisation’s carbon footprint, preparing the project for the grant application, developing the emissions reduction plan, and managing the CAE process.

The combination of public subsidies, CAEs and project financing, together with integrated solutions such as those offered by ATuAire for replacing fossil-fuel boilers with electric heat pumps, enables companies in Álava to begin their decarbonisation journey at the lowest possible cost.

This allows them to implement measures that reduce energy costs and improve competitiveness, while anticipating future regulatory requirements and meeting the increasingly frequent and mandatory expectations of customers and supply chains.
