Iberdrola España and bp are expanding their partnership with a new customer loyalty agreement, building on the two joint ventures they have established to deploy high-power charging points and develop green hydrogen – two key areas for advancing transport electrification and the decarbonisation of the economy.

Under the new agreement, Iberdrola España customers will be able to redeem the balance accumulated through the MiIberdrola loyalty programme in bp's miBP Savings programme, while benefiting from an additional 10% bonus. The initiative is initially scheduled to run for one year and complements the more than 60 discounts that Iberdrola España already offers customers through partner companies and brands as part of the MiIberdrola loyalty programme.

The MiIberdrola programme is completely free and available to all Iberdrola España customers. It is designed to reward the trust customers place in the company by offering savings, discounts and exclusive deals that are continually expanded through partnerships with businesses across a wide range of sectors, including technology, supermarkets, leisure, home, hotels, sport, restaurants and fashion. Members also gain access to exclusive experiences such as tickets for concerts, museums and national and international sporting events.

miBP is a loyalty programme designed to provide bp customers with tangible benefits and a more rewarding, personalised experience, enabling them to save money, access exclusive offers and enjoy benefits through a growing ecosystem of partners and services. The company is continuously strengthening the programme, making it increasingly useful, flexible and relevant by introducing unique offers through partnerships with businesses in sectors such as retail, banking and energy.

Partnerships in strategic areas

The relationship between the two companies is focused on advancing strategic areas that support economic development and decarbonisation. Through Iberdrola | bp pulse, the partnership established in 2023, the two companies have become leaders in ultra-fast public EV charging in Spain and Portugal, with more than 2,500 operational charging points, 70% of which deliver power outputs of between 150 kW and 600 kW.

In the field of green hydrogen, Iberdrola España and bp established the joint venture Castellón Green Hydrogen and have completed construction of a 25 MW green hydrogen plant at the Castellón refinery.

They are currently exploring opportunities to expand production through funding from the IPCEI Hy2Use programme of Spain's Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, administered through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).
