Iberdrola Group receives AERCE award for Best Digitalisation Project in Procurement in Spain

The Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola Spain is a part, has been recognised by AERCE (Spanish Association of Purchasing, Contracting and Procurement Professionals) with the award for Best Digitalisation Project in Procurement, a distinction that highlights the company's commitment to innovation and digital transformation in its strategic processes.
During the award ceremony, the Iberdrola Group's Director of Procurement and Global Services, José Ignacio Sánchez-Galán García-Tabernero, highlighted that this recognition ‘is an incentive and motivation to continue advancing in the digital transformation of the Procurement Department. This award reflects the work of an exceptional team of professionals who developed a Smart Bid Evaluation Platform based on generative AI’.
The new platform, which acts on one of the main parts of the purchasing process, automates and optimises the review and evaluation of supplier bids, covering everything from document compliance to an initial technical and economic evaluation as well as risk management. Thanks to the application of generative AI, the solution eliminates subjectivity, provides certainty and transparency, and reduces the time spent on the purchasing process by the Procurement and Business teams, increasing efficiency and allowing professionals to increase their capabilities and focus on strategic tasks.
