Iberdrola Music
Iberdrola Music, the largest sustainable space in Europe for leisure and culture
The Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España forms part, is involved in creating a greener future and this also involves promoting sustainable leisure and culture.
From July 2023, we will have the largest sustainable space in Europe dedicated to leisure and culture. Under the name Iberdrola Music, the venue will ensure that major music, cultural and entertainment festivals and events are held with the minimum environmental impact. With 185,000 square metres and capacity to host more than 100,000 people, the new arts area is located in the Villaverde district of Madrid.
This new sustainable leisure space also reinforces our commitment to the fight against climate change. Inspiring and a benchmark in sustainability, Iberdrola Music's project seeks to avoid the emission of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere through the complete electrification of the stages with 100% green energy.
This represents an important step in the decarbonisation of society through major musical events and also in promoting sustainable leisure, which is important in our relationship with culture, leisure and youth.
In line with the Iberdrola Group's global commitment to continue leading the energy transition, the new space also gives an important socio-cultural boost to the area, attracting music, art and cultural talent, and standing out as an attraction for major national and international artists, who are increasingly aware of the need to minimise the environmental impact of their performances.
Iberdrola Music kicked off with Mad Cool Festival 2023, a project promoted by the Madrid City Council in the district of Villaverde and the private management of Mad Cool Events.
