Social commitment in Spain

Creating value, progress and well-being

At Iberdrola España, we work to strengthen our social dividend and to generate more value in those communities in which we are present. To achieve this, beyond the work we do every day to bring electricity to homes and businesses in Spain, we work every day so that our activities can increasingly benefit the lives of millions of Spaniards.

Diversidad

In line with compliance with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), Iberdrola España is committed to society and we do so at all levels, with clear support for diversity and inclusion within the company. To do this, we have projects such as the STEM Women Chair, which aims to include more women in a historically male sector such as the fields of science and technology.

Through Fundación Iberdrola España, we also contribute to the world of culture, with significant support for the dissemination of art. With this aim, we constantly support new forms of artistic expression and the restoration of Spain's historical heritage.

Women's sport

Iberdrola España is also involved in women's sports and, to this end, is committed to initiatives that seek to promote gender equality in our country through sport. We are currently the main promoter of the Universo Mujer programme, in collaboration with the National Sports Council (CSD). In recent years, the number of federated women has increased and, in addition, since 2020, we have been awarding the Iberdrola Supera Awards for initiatives that work in favour of gender equality in Spain.

Art and culture

Art and culture are also key to our company. For this reason, we are committed to supporting new forms of artistic expressión and the restoration of Spain's historical heritage through our ongoing work of patronage and dissemination. In addittion, we also have the largest space dedicated to sustainable leisure and culture in Europe: Iberdrola Music. This new space makes it possible to hold major music, cultural and entertainment festivals with minimal enviromental impact.

Corporate volunteering

Thousands of people participate in our Corporate Volunteering Programme to create caring energy that has already been delivered to more than half a million people. This is a global initiative that is applied in Spain created to channel the spirit of solidarity of our employees and encourage their participation in social projects that can promote care for the environment, sustainable development, and the improvement of the quality of life of people belonging to vulnerable groups.

Diversidad e inclusión

At Iberdrola España, we work to generate more value in the communities in which we are present. Ensuring diversity and inclusion among employees, customers, and suppliers is one of our top priorities, and we therefore implement a series of measures to promote them in Spain and progress towards a fairer and more egalitarian society.
