The 19th Malpartida de Plasencia – Iberdrola Grand Prix Half Marathon will be held in the Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve on 16 November

  • The event will also have a 10k race, a hiking trail, MTB and children's races, combining nature, health and community in a unique setting
  • It returns to its original route, finishing in the heart of Monfragüe, and more than 300 athletes have already registered

Previous edition of the Malpartida de Plasencia Half Marathon – Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve – Iberdrola Grand Prix

On Sunday 16 November, Malpartida de Plasencia will host the 19th Malpartida Half Marathon de Plasencia Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve – ‘Iberdrola Grand Prix’, a sporting event that combines nature, health and community in a unique setting.


The event, organised by Malpartida de Plasencia Town Council and supported by Iberdrola España as the main sponsor, will feature various categories: Half Marathon (21K), 10K, hiking trail, MTB trail and kids' races, encouraging people of all ages to participate. Registrations for 2025 are coming in steadily, with more than 300 athletes already signed up.


The route runs through the Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve, a natural setting of exceptional beauty, making the event a unique experience for athletes and their friends and families. In addition, a community lunch will be held, open to participants and their families. 


This year, the Half Marathon returns to the circuit starting in Malpartida de Plasencia and finishing in Villarreal de San Carlos, allowing runners to enjoy a very favourable route with a beautiful finish in the heart of Monfragüe. 


With this sponsorship, Iberdrola España reaffirms its commitment to sport, sustainable development and the promotion of healthy lifestyles, supporting initiatives that highlight the natural spaces of Extremadura.


Registrations are open until 12 November at 3 p.m. and at discounted prices until 2 November on the official website.


The event is part of the Euroace Grand Race Circuit coordinated by the Extremadura Athletics Federation and the Regional Government of Extremadura and is supported by the Provincial Council of Cáceres, as well as sponsored by Iberdrola España.
