Pedro Azagra, new CEO of Iberdrola Group

The Board of Iberdrola, S.A., the holding company of the group to which Iberdrola España belongs, has appointed Pedro Azagra, who until now held the position of US CEO, as Chief Executive Officer of the group, replacing Armando Martínez.
Pedro Azagra has been with the Iberdrola Group for 25 years, first as development director and head of the company's international expansion and for the last three years as CEO of the Iberdrola Group's subsidiary in the United States.
Pedro Azagra holds a degree in Business Administration and Law from the Instituto Católico de Administración y Dirección de Empresas (ICADE or Catholic Institute of Business Administration) at the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, where he has also taught Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions.
With an MBA from the University of Chicago, he developed his career in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley until he joined Iberdrola Group.
In addition to being CEO of Iberdrola in the US, he has been chairman of Avangrid Power and Avangrid Networks and is currently a member of the board of Neoenergia, Iberdrola Group’s Brazilian subsidiary.
