Once again, the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) is celebrating the new edition of the solidarity walk, bringing together around 10,000 people, with Iberdrola España as the main sponsor. This year, it is expected that the Zamora population, along with various sponsors, collaborators, and media outlets, will be highly involved
The Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) is once again holding its charity walk, which brings together around 10,000 people, with Iberdrola España as its main sponsor. This year, we are expecting active involvement from the people of Zamora as well as from the various sponsors and partners, and the media.
Zamora will start walking on 19 October, this year coinciding with World Breast Cancer Day, with this year's breast cancer awareness campaign slogan of 'LET’S GET IT OFF OUR CHEST’. As an association, we want to get it off out chest: we want to contribute to improvements in treatments, patient survival and quality of life during and after this process, and we want to make sure everyone knows that they have a part to play, both institutions and companies, and more generally, the whole of Zamora society, which must get breast cancer off its chest.
The Spanish Cancer Association has set itself the challenge of achieving a 70% cancer survival rate in coming years through research, which is why it has created a new call for grants for clinical research, talent, innovation and centres of research excellence. All proceeds from the 17th Mucho por Vivir (So Much to Live For) Race will go towards various projects that respond to the challenge of exceeding a 70% survival rate.
During the 11 a.m. press conference held this morning at the association's headquarters at Avenida Portugal, 40–42, all the information about the race was presented, explaining the date and times for runners, walkers and cyclists. Details were also provided on registration fees, where to register, the race route, and the major importance of this fundraising sporting event, an initiative that advances cancer research.
