Iberdrola España and Women Lab Bilbao bring together 200 female executives to address professional competitiveness in the age of AI
- Women Lab Bilbao is a professional network for female executives and professionals in the Basque Country, bringing together more than 900 professionals from over 600 companies.
- Its collaboration with Iberdrola España, which began in March 2023, has resulted in 10 events covering topics such as intergenerational talent, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

More than 200 female executives and senior managers from companies across the Basque Country gathered yesterday at Torre Iberdrola for an event organised by Women Lab Bilbao in collaboration with Iberdrola España to address one of today's biggest professional challenges: how to remain competitive in the age of artificial intelligence.
The event, the 10th in the collaboration between the two organisations, sold out in record time. Titled ‘Professional Competitiveness in the Age of AI’, the event featured an expert panel and a practical exercise: a live recruitment process in which the entire audience took part.
The event began by examining the labour market in the Basque Country, drawing on data from the ISEAK Foundation to explain how AI is changing the job search landscape. The role of organisations was also explored, with insights from Adecco Learning & Consulting and Iberdrola España's experience in attracting and selecting talent.
Participants included Lucía Gorjón from the ISEAK Foundation, Nagore Rubio from Iberdrola España, Sandra Gómez from Adecco Learning & Consulting and Héctor Labarta from Kaizen Talent. The panel was moderated by Arrate Jaureguibeitia from BAIC, while the practical exercise also featured Ainhoa Alonso from SATLANTIS.
“Being good at what you do is no longer enough. Today's professionals need both talent and visibility, and AI will put both to the test when a company decides who to recruit or promote. That's why we wanted them to experience things from both perspectives: that of the person making the selection and that of the person being selected,” said Laura Ruiz, founder of Women Lab Bilbao.
