Iberdrola España has been recognized by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha during the institutional event of the 2025 Day of Education for its contribution to promoting technical training and employability in the regional educational sector. The award highlights the company's ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports in projects that promote practical training, innovation, and sustainability.
Among the key initiatives is the donation of a nacelle from the Molar del Molinar wind farm (Albacete) to the CIFP Aguas Nuevas in Albacete. This donation allowed its Renewable Energy higher-level students to gain hands-on experience with wind generation technology and acquire practical skills related to the energy transition. The nacelle, which is the casing located at the top of the wind turbine towers, behind the blades, measures 6.3 meters long, 2.25 meters wide, and 2.90 meters high, weighing 20.4 tons. The wind turbine was a Gamesa Eólica brand, G47 model, with 660 kW of installed power, a rotor diameter of 47 meters, and a tower height of 45 meters.
The recognition, received alongside nearly twenty other outstanding institutions, individuals, and companies in the educational field, was presented by the President of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and the Minister of Education, Culture, and Sports, Amador Pastor Moheda, to Iberdrola Renovables’ Regional Manager in Castilla-La Mancha, Amelia Rodríguez, and the Institutional Delegate of Iberdrola España in Castilla-La Mancha, Óscar Narros.
In the same vein, Iberdrola España is finalizing new agreements with the Ministry of Education for the donation of two additional nacelles: one to the IES Consaburum in Consuegra (Toledo) and another to the IES Luis de Lucena in Guadalajara, further strengthening its commitment to cutting-edge technical education and bringing the energy sector closer to the educational environment.
Moreover, since 2022, the company has maintained a collaboration agreement with the Aguas Nuevas center (Albacete), through which students carry out internships at Iberdrola España facilities, managed by the maintenance company. This program fosters youth employability by offering applied training in real work environments, contributing to preparing future professionals in the energy sector.
With these actions, Iberdrola España strengthens its role as a driving force in technical education and sustainability, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and its commitment to creating opportunities in the regions where it operates.
