Iberdrola España honours senior and retired workers from the Valencian Community and the Basque Country

  • The CEO of Iberdrola España, Mario Ruiz-Tagle, thanked them for their dedication and hard work over decades, which have enabled the company to grow
  • A hundred employees from these regions received a gift for their years of service with Iberdrola España and in the Valencian Community, they were recognised for the important role they played during the cold drop

Iberdrola España employees honored in the Basque Country.

Iberdrola España held its traditional tribute to its seasoned professionals in the Valencian Community, bringing together approximately one hundred employees who retired last year or who have completed 25 and 40 years of service with the company.


The event was attended by the CEO of Iberdrola España, Mario Ruiz-Tagle, who thanked the employees for their dedication and hard work over decades, which has enabled the company to grow and expand internationally, becoming a world leader.


During the event, Mario Ruiz-Tagle highlighted that almost 125 years ago, ‘the foundations of Iberdrola España were laid in this country, and we have managed to go down an extraordinary path thanks to you, which has allowed us to be one of the two largest companies in the world today and the leading European electricity company’.

The CEO of Iberdrola España also mentioned his pride in ‘providing such good service to our communities 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and being there whenever we’re needed, like during the cold drop that struck the province of Valencia. That’s why it’s essential to have your dedication and hard work: your experience is key to facing challenges and advancing in electrification’.


The professionals received a memento for their years of service with Iberdrola España. Employees who have been with the company for 40 years received a watch, as did those who retired last year, who also received a commemorative plate. Active staff who completed 25 years of service in 2024 were presented with a silver caravel.


The company also plans to hold similar employee recognition events in, Valladolid and Madrid in the near future.

Valencian Community

The honourees, who came from different parts of the provinces of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, as well as from the Region of Murcia and Castile-La Mancha, were also accompanied by executives from Iberdrola España, including Álvaro Murga, Director of People at Iberdrola España, Guillermo Raga, Director of i-DE in the Eastern Region, the director of CN Cofrentes, Javier Sala, the head of People at Iberdrola Energía Sostenible, Julio Belinchón, the head of Iberdrola Renovables Mediterráneo, Sandra Machirán, the head of Maintenance at Iberdrola, Álvaro Campos, the head of i-DE in the Eastern Region, Álvaro Campos, and the company's representative in the Valencian Community, Ibán Molina.

Basque Country

The honorees, who came from different areas of the provinces of Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, and Álava, as well as from Navarra and La Rioja, were also accompanied by Iberdrola executives, including the Group Iberdrola Director of Resources and Services, Asís Canales; Iberdrola España Director of People, Álvaro Murga; i-DE Director for the Northern Region, Javier Arriola; i-DE Director of Processes and Technology, Estibaliz Goñi; Aitor Moso, Director of Clients at the Basque company; and Itziar Marcaida, from the Iberdrola España Northern Zone Commercial delegation.
