The city of Bilbao is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Iberdrola Group with a free music festival lasting over six hours

More than 40,000 people attended the concert held in Doña Casilda Park, featuring performances by Juanes, Antonio Orozco, Rigoberta Bandini and Süne

Iberdrola 125th anniversary concert with a large audience in Bilbao

Near 40,000 people gathered at Doña Casilda Park to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España is a part, at a massive free festival open to all that transformed downtown Bilbao into a major musical gathering place with performances by Juanes, Antonio Orozco, Rigoberta Bandini and Süne. The festival was opened by Iberdrola's Electric Band.

For six hours, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the venue saw a steady flow of visitors in a festive atmosphere. The high turnout exceeded expectations and left images of a city fully immersed in an event that combined live music and celebration throughout the afternoon.

The day kicked off with Süne, who took the stage around 4:30 pm; Rigoberta Bandini took over at 5:35 pm; Antonio Orozco performed his set around 7:10 pm; and the finale came at around 8:45 pm with Juanes, who brought the event to a close.

To offer the best possible experience to the audience, seven screens strategically placed throughout the park ensured visibility from virtually any location.

The festival’s closing featured a drone show — the largest ever held in Spain, with 1,500 drones. This large-scale display, powered by 100% renewable energy, was organized so it could be viewed from various points across Bilbao.

Throughout the day the public had access to information services, food and beverage options, medical assistance, restrooms, areas adapted for people with reduced mobility, a children's care area and a "Punto Violeta" (a safe space for women). Additionally a special cleaning, maintenance and landscaping team was deployed to ensure the venue was left in good condition after the event concluded.

All the "125 años luz" concerts

Following the success in Bilbao the musical calendar for the Iberdrola Group's 125th anniversary will continue with new events such as the concert in Madrid on 27 June featuring Lenny Kravitz, Manuel Carrasco, Ana Mena and Álvaro de Luna and the concert in Valencia on 28 November featuring Estopa and Mafalda Cardenal.

These shows are part of the "125 años luz" program, through which the company will celebrate its anniversary throughout 2026 with initiatives aimed at employees, customers, shareholders and the general public, and which also includes exhibitions, social events and the illumination of iconic buildings.
