The Foundation will invest 1.2 millon in the financing of 35 projects
Of the total number of initiatives, 40% are aimed at preventing situations of poverty and social exclusion, prioritising the fight against child poverty; 10% address the improvement of health and well-being; another 38% are aimed at the social inclusion of people with disabilities and the remaining 12% are aimed at supporting women.
The projects are developed by national and local non-profit organisations with proven experience such as: Ciudad Joven, Save The Children, Fundación Síndrome de Down, Proyecto Hombre, Asociación de Padres de Niños con Cáncer de la Comunidad Valenciana (Aspanion), Fundación Tomillo, Candelita, etc.
These projects receive funding of up to a maximum of 40,000 euros. The focus of their efforts is social inclusion, with special attention to children, people with disabilities, people with serious illnesses and women. Volunteering and the creation of direct employment are also encouraged. In this edition alone, the programme will generate more than 218 direct jobs.
The Social Agenda 2022 has prioritised four lines of work. The first focuses on projects linked to child poverty and social exclusion. They support low-income households seeking to cover basic aspects of daily life. It also supports initiatives that seek to promote education and reduce the impact of inherited poverty on the younger population.
The second line of work focuses on social inclusion projects for people with disabilities. Specifically, it supports children and young people, and the occupational centres they attend. They are offered a space for the development of skills that will enable them to integrate into society and enter the job market.
The third line addresses health and welfare projects also for vulnerable children with serious illnesses and their families. It also supports initiatives aimed at the prevention and/or treatment of people affected by various addictions.
The fourth and last line of work focuses on support for women who suffer or have been victims of harassment and gender-based violence. The aim is to foster their self-esteem and personal autonomy through support and pre-employment training projects that promote their skills for real autonomy and, at the same time, promote gender equality.
