Iberdrola España and Mercadona have expanded their partnership with the signing of long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for more than 300 MW, associated to wind and solar assets, for Mercadona's logistics centres and supermarkets.

Both companies have been working for years to advance the electrification of their services. The energy group is responsible for the supply, commissioning, and operation of up to 3,500 charging points at 800 supermarkets in Spain and Portugal. The addition of these new charging points for electric vehicles is a major step forward in the expansionof the public charging network.

“Partnerships such as this one with Mercadona are essential to support the continued development of a renewable electricity mix. The PPA is the ideal tool for customers who want to electrify, because it ensures the consumption of renewable energy at a stable price over the long term.”
