- Businessmen from Castilla y León have participated today in the meeting organised by CEOE Castilla y León, with the collaboration of Iberdrola and Banco Santander, to learn about the advantages of environmental sustainability and innovation as tools to strengthen the competitiveness of companies.
Elena Romero Caamaño, senior innovation manager at Iberdrola, and Pablo Alonso Ferreira, head of Green Finance for Companies at Banca Comercial España, spoke at the conference. In their presentations they addressed the need to incorporate sustainability into the strategy of all companies, following the ESG criteria: "Environmental", "Social" and "Governance".
They also stressed the role of innovation as a lever to respond to the challenges posed by the energy transition in companies, presenting specific examples of solutions for SMEs that enable them to achieve energy efficiency in their buildings, industrial processes and transport. They also offered the keys for companies to finance their ecological transition process, making profitability and sustainability compatible.
The meeting was organised within the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network, in which CEOE Castilla y León participates through EEN-GalacteaPlus, the consortium of the network in northwest Spain. Thanks to this Network, companies receive personalised support services from the Business Confederation, allowing them to find business opportunities in other countries, innovate and grow on an international scale.
