The eighth edition of the Madrid Electric Vehicle Fair (VEM 2023), which has already become one of the most representative zero-emission events in our country, opened this Friday (9/8) in Madrid. Héctor Gómez, Minister of Industry; Sara Aagensen, Secretary of State for Energy; and José Luis Martínez Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, visited the Iberdrola España stand, where the CEO of Iberdrola España, Mario Ruiz-Tagle, presented the company's complete network of charging points in the country.
Promoted by the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE) and the Madrid City Council, the initiative is being held until 10 September in the Plaza de Colón and aims to promote sustainable mobility in Spain.
In Spain, transport accounts for a quarter of total CO emissions2 . For this reason, Iberdrola España is clear that the energy transition requires a commitment to zero-emission mobility, and it is along these lines that its presence at events such as the VEM 2023 is framed, which are essential to facilitate this transition towards sustainable mobility.
Through its sales company, the company is offering various environmentally and cost-effective electric mobility energy solutions at the event for those who want to take a step towards more environmentally friendly mobility.
Iberdrola España, for electric mobility in Spain

Overall, it has 35,000 public and private charging points (residential and companies).
The company has an investment plan until 2024 of 150 million euros to achieve a public charging network covering Spain with chargers of all power ratings, but with a special focus on fast (50kW), super-fast (150kW) and ultra-fast (350-400kW) chargers. The Iberdrola app, which already has more than 100,000 users, is the best rated by electric vehicle users.
About the Madrid Electric Vehicle Fair
The VEM is a zero-emission vehicle exhibition and test fair that aims to bring electric mobility in Spain closer to both individuals and professionals. Its aim is that attendees can not only find out about the range of products and services on offer in the sector, but also try them out, as this is what will give them the definitive impetus to join electric mobility.
