Iberdrola’s Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub hosts visits from Deusto representatives
On 14 December, Rector Juan José Etxeberria visited Iberdrola's Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub (GSGIH) in Larraskitu. Accompanied by the Vice Rector for Entrepreneurship and Business Relations, Víctor Urcelay, and the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asier Perallos and Pablo García Bringas, respectively, the head of Deusto was accompanied by the CEO of Iberdrola España, Mario Ruiz Tagle, the Director of the Northern Region of I+DE, Javier Arriola, and the head of the Hub, Noemi Alonso, to see this centre, which aims to respond to the challenges of the energy transition.
On the other hand, Iberdrola and Deusto have applied to the call launched by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, to fund ENIA university chairs dedicated to research, dissemination, teaching and innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The development of these chairs is part of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA), the Digital Spain 2026 agenda, as well as the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
