So far this year, the company has commissioned 1,000 points, with an additional 5,000 in various stages of construction and processing
Iberdrola España has launched 10 charging points every business day so far in 2024, bringing the total for the year to 1,000 points and overall to 7,000. This reinforces its leading position as the most extensive public charging network in Spain.
In addition to this already-operational infrastructure, there are nearly 2,000 more points under construction and more than 3,000 more with pending paperwork, which will come online in the coming months.
These figures demonstrate the company's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility as a way to fight climate change and achieve more sustainable spaces. Of the infrastructure of 7,000 points, 2,000 of them are fast, super-fast and ultra-fast charging points. The points with more than 50 kW are part of the network operated by the Iberdrola | bp pulse partnership.
Iberdrola España's development of electric mobility also extends to the private sector in companies and residential customers, reaching more than 50,000 charging points in conjunction with the public grid.
Iberdrola España's charging infrastructure is set up in the best locations and offers all charging speeds, allowing users to find the type of point that best suits their needs at any time, from charging over a longer period parked to ultra-fast charging, from 5 to 10 minutes.
All the points installed by Iberdrola España have 100% green energy, from renewable sources with guarantee of origin, promoting totally emissions-free mobility that contributes to decarbonisation and improves air quality. The electric motor is the only technology based on renewable energies that is also efficient, silent and enables reaching zero emissions.
Pioneers in sustainable mobility
The mobility plan, launched by the company in 2016, was pioneering in its implementation. Today, its strategy envisages the installation of more than 100,000 charging points by 2025, including public, residential, company and car park charging points.
To this end, its public infrastructure design is being developed on highways and major arteries as well as in cities and small towns to have at least one fast charging station every 50 km or less.
The high-power charging points will be developed and operated by Iberdrola | bp pulse, a 50:50 strategic partnership between the two companies to lead the deployment of fast and ultra-fast public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Spain and Portugal.
All these charging points are available on the Iberdrola España Public Charging App, the most highly rated in the industry, where you can find and geolocate verified information on all chargers, check their operation in real time and reserve and pay from your mobile phone.
