The Iberdrola Group's tax contribution in the Basque Country up 15% to €800 M

  • Over the last 20 years, the company’s internationalisation has had a direct impact on Basque suppliers, with annual purchases amounting to over €3.3 B. More than 90% of these purchases are from companies in Bizkaia.

The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola Group, Ignacio Galán, today held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe, at Torre Iberdrola Bilbao, the company's headquarters. The meeting is part of the regular meetings between the company's Executive Chairman and the authorities of Basque institutions. 

 

During the meeting, Ignacio Galán conveyed the company's firm commitment to the Basque Country to the Deputy Minister of Bizkaia. The tax contribution of Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España forms part, in 2024 was up 15% to around €800 M, 90% of which is in Bizkaia.

 

Iberdrola Group is one of the driving forces of the Basque Country's economy, with an impact on its GDP of €3.5 B in investments, purchases, salaries and tax contributions. The company provides a total of 30,000 jobs in the Basque Country.


The internationalisation of Iberdrola Group over the last 20 years has had a direct impact on Basque suppliers, including companies such as Haizea Wind, Ingeteam, Ormazabal, Arteche or Siemens-Gamesa, with annual purchases amounting to over €3.3 B. More than 90% of these purchases are from companies in Bizkaia.
