Basque Government Security Advisor, Bingen Zupiria, visits Iberdrola España facilities in Bilbao

Basque Government Security Advisor, Bingen Zupiria, and Iberdrola Services and Resources Director, Bingen Zupiria
In the context of the collaboration agreements signed between the Basque Government Department of Security and Iberdrola España, the Basque Government Security Advisor, Bingen Zupiria, visited the company's Berroeta Corporate Centre on Wednesday, 10 July. He was accompanied by senior officials from his department and by executives from Iberdrola España: Asís Canales, Director of Services and Resources; Javier Arriola, Director of the North Region of i-DE, Iberdrola España’s distribution company; and José Miguel Gordillo, Corporate Security Director.
During the visit, the authorities were able to tour the facilities of the Distribution Operation Centre (COD), from where the electricity supply network in the Basque Country is managed, as well as the Global Cyber Fusion Center, the company’s coordination centre for digital threats.
Iberdrola España signed two agreements with the Ertzaintza (Basque Police Force) last May. One is related to cybersecurity, and the other is a broader security agreement. Both agreements include training activities and mutual cooperation in the use of facilities and resources, as well as public security prevention and investigation.
The visit also forms part of the current agreement between i-DE, Iberdrola España’s distributor, and SOS Deiak 112 for the coordination of security and emergency-related incidents.
