The Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España forms part, continues to strengthen its collaboration with the Basque industrial sector through new contracts awarded to leading companies such as Ingeteam and Ormazabal. The Executive Committee of the company's Board of Directors discussed the award during its meeting held today in Bilbao.

Firstly the company has awarded Ingeteam a contract worth €25 million for work relating to energy storage systems using batteries (BESS) associated with renewable energy facilities in Spain. This technology plays an increasingly important role in the electricity system as it facilitates greater integration of renewable energy and provides flexibility.

Furthermore it has awarded Ormazabal the contract for the design, manufacture and supply of two mobile substations intended to bolster the operational capacity of the electrical network, worth nearly €5 million euros. This equipment will improve the ability to respond to maintenance work, operational incidents or extraordinary demand requirements.
