Iberdrola España has held its traditional event to honour the company's longest-serving staff. The gathering in Bilbao brought together more than 50 employees who retired during the past financial year or who have reached 25 or 40 years' service with the company.

The CEO of the Iberdrola Group, Pedro Azagra, took part in the event and paid tribute to the commitment, dedication and hard work of these professionals over the decades – a contribution that has been key to driving Iberdrola's growth, its international expansion and its consolidation as one of the world leaders in the energy sector.

Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola España, also spoke at the event, highlighting the company's 125th anniversary celebrations and emphasising that the company's true asset is the people who make up the Iberdrola family.

The honourees, who had travelled from various parts of Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Álava, as well as from Navarre and La Rioja, were also joined by Iberdrola executives, including Asís Canales, Iberdrola España's representative in the Basque Country and Global Director of Resources and Services at the Iberdrola Group; José Sáenz de Argandoña, Human Resources Director at Iberdrola España; Javier Arriola, Director of i-DE for the Northern Region; Julio Castro, CEO of Iberdrola Energía Sostenible España; David Martínez, Director of Iberdrola España Clients; and Estíbaliz Goñi, Director of Processes and Technology at i-DE, among others.

The company presented the employees with a memento in recognition of their years of service to Iberdrola España. Those who have been with the company for 40 years received a watch whilst current staff who will have completed 25 years' service in 2025 received a personalised commemorative plaque.

The company also plans to continue these employee recognition events in the coming weeks in Madrid and Valladolid.
