URBANHUB Project

Urban multi-platform charging hub to continue leading the transition to electric mobility

"URBANHUB" is a project financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, within the first call of the MOVES Singulares II programme, managed by IDAE.

Iberdrola España reaffirms its commitment to electric mobility, in line with the rapid transition driven by the EU towards the electrification of transport. In the new mobility ecosystem, collaboration between companies from different sectors is essential and Iberdrola continues to act as a facilitator of electric mobility.

Iberdrola España wants to lead the transition to electric mobility. To this end, the Company will undertake the massive deployment of fast (50 kW), super-fast (150 kW) and ultra-fast (350 kW) charging points on the main corridors and high-capacity roads in Spain. To provide a charging service adapted to all users, it is necessary to continue developing innovative charging infrastructure.

Objective of the "URBANHUB" project, an initiative to promote the widespread deployment of electric vehicle charging stations

The action led by Iberdrola España with the support of the Navarrese value chain through BeePlanet and Ingeteam, aims to develop a charging Hub equipped with cross-platform charging infrastructure in Pamplona. URBANHUB will serve to integrate and optimise pioneering opportunity charging technologies and will provide any type of user with a charging alternative, including private light vehicle users, last mile transport and micro-mobility solutions, in addition to the following:

  • A high-power station with second-life storage with pioneering integration on a DC bus.
  • Two mobile containerised systems to cover charging needs at events and periods of high demand, in addition to reinforcing the charging offer in its stationary function.
  • Integrated management of energy systems (EMS) to optimise the power demanded by the installation
