In its 6th year, the Iberdrola Supera Awards matched the record number of entries hit in 2024, with 1,300. In total, since its first year in 2020, the company has received more than 5,300 projects.

Two decades promoting equality through sport

Iberdrola España believes that sport is one of the essential vehicles for equality and since 2016, it has been the main promoter of sport practiced by women. It currently supports 35 national federations and gives its name to more than 100 competitions. With its commitment, in these nine years, it has contributed to the number of female members of the federations increasing by more than 80%, to almost 820,000.

It is also carrying out complementary initiatives, such as its Iberdrola Ambassadors programme, which brings together 35 leading sportswomen who promote female visibility and leadership in the field of sport, to whom the company seeks to give the widest possible coverage in the media and social networks.

The electricity company’s support also extends to paralympic sport. Since its creation in 2005, it has been working with the Spanish Paralympic Committee's Paralympic Sports Support Plan to provide our athletes with the best conditions to train and participate in all competitions with guaranteed success.

Iberdrola España, through its Foundation in Spain and together with the Spanish Paralympic Committee, provides paralympic athletes who are beneficiaries of the plan with scholarships for university and postgraduate training. This agreement aims to assist in the professional training of athletes so they are better prepared to join the job market in the future once they have completed their athletic careers.

It should be recalled that the company is one of the partners of Women’s Universe, a comprehensive initiative for the development and evolution of women in society that carries out actions that contribute to social transformation through the values of women's sport.
