This new edition served to highlight and take stock of the activity carried out during the first nine months of the year, in which the company has recorded excellent service quality and customer service rates.

At each of the conferences held in Alicante, Castellón, Valencia, Cartagena and Murcia, Iberdrola España's distribution company management shared an analysis of the current context, the opportunities and challenges arising from the energy transitionExternal link, opens in new window.  that the company is facing: self-consumption, energy communities, batteries and data processing centres.

The projects being worked on were also highlighted, such as the creation of a digital twin that will allow us to visualise what will be the electricity grid of the future, as well as the main novelties of the Cybersecurity Master Plan and transformational projects aimed at new connections.

The director of i-DE in Valencia and Murcia Region, Ana Lafuente, chaired this conference in which she encouraged the different teams to continue making a continuous effort in terms of safety and was able to see at first hand the different team experiences told by the employees themselves and which have served to implement improvements in the company.

Networks, the engine of the energy transition

For Ana Lafuente, the transformation of grids into a robust, flexible and intelligent infrastructure "allows i-DE to respond to the challenges of the electrification of the electricity system and facilitate the energy transition, with greater integration of renewables, the development of sustainable mobility, smart citiesExternal link, opens in new window.  and self-consumption,External link, opens in new window.  as well as giving consumers greater decision-making capacity and connectivity, which is why investment in grids must be more ambitious if the objectives set out in the decarbonisation 'roadmap' are to be achieved".

i-DE continues to focus all its efforts on putting the customer at the centre of its operations. The Phoenix project is redesigning the new supply process in order to be proactive and meet the expectations of its customers.

In the Eastern Region, i-DE manages over 96,000 km of low and medium voltage lines and approximately 5,000 km of high and very high voltage lines. It also has 35,000 transformer stations in service and more than 240 primary and secondary substations. In recent years, the company has undertaken an ambitious plan to digitalise its electricity grids, where it has converted its more than 4.4 million meters and the infrastructure that supports them into smart meters, incorporating remote management, supervision and automation capabilities.
