Iberdrola España has been awarded a €8.7M contract to supply 100% renewable energy to buildings of the Castile-La Mancha Regional Government

• The framework agreement will include the buildings located in the Regional Government and its Autonomous Bodies in the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo.
• The award of contract is for a period of one year.

Iberdrola Clientes has been awarded the contract for the approval of the supply of 100% renewable electricity to the buildings of the Regional Government and its Autonomous Bodies in the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo. 

The framework agreement covers the period of one year and has a total value of €8.7 million.

Three companies submitted bids for the tender. Iberdrola Clientes got the highest competitive score, focusing its objectives on achieving greater administrative simplification and, therefore, cost simplification. According to the justification report, the contract affects more than 400 supplies with an energy volume of over 36 GWh.

Por otro lado, con este sistema se garantiza la correcta aplicación de los precios individuales a aplicar a todos los suministros, con la consecuente menor carga de trabajo para los órganos gestores de las facturas.

Significant savings on utility bills

This contracting modality achieves greater budget stabilisation in the face of market volatility and produces significant savings in the overall billing of supplies to consumption centres. Furthermore, thanks to a detailed knowledge of the technical parameters of the electricity contracts of buildings and facilities, their conditions of use and their demand curves, the contracted electrical power for the different supplies will be adjusted according to the real consumption needs of the centres and buildings of the Castile-La Mancha government, with the consequent savings in the electricity bills of these buildings.

On the other hand, this system guarantees the correct application of the individual prices to be applied to all supplies, with a consequent reduced workload for the invoice management bodies.

The regional government reaffirms its commitment to technologies based on renewable energy within the framework of the decarbonisation of the economy and the energy transition. Specifically, with this award to Iberdrola Clientes, the Regional Renewable Energy Plan focuses on taking advantage of the experience accumulated in photovoltaic and wind energy, but it is also committed to other assets such as biomass and green hydrogen. In addition, Iberdrola España is also committed to promoting electric mobility throughout the region with an ambitious network of charging points, as well as other initiatives and investments linked to the development of energy efficiency.
