- The Company will install 36 charging points in 12 districts of Madrid City Council with 100% Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificate (GdOs).
- The Company offers a 15% discount to users who want to install a charging point at their home in the city of Madrid.
- Electric mobility with 100% renewable energy will enable further decarbonisation, help improve air quality and contribute to decreasing noise levels.
The first charging points of the new electric vehicle infrastructure network of Madrid City Council are now up and running. The Company has also installed two 100 kW and one 50 kW charging points in the Valdebernardo neighbourhood.
The Company will launch 33 faster and ultra-fast points in the coming months, bringing the total to 36. They will be located in 12 districts of the city of Madrid, including Hortaleza, Ciudad Lineal, Latina, Tetuán, Retiro, Villaverde, Carabanchel, Chamberí, Moncloa - Aravaca, Moratalaz and Usera.
Iberdrola España will also renovate eight charging stations already in operation on the m-30 ring road, upgrading them and providing them with more charging power. These actions are part of the tender published by Madrid City Council and awarded to the Company last year.
Commitment to decarbonisation
The action is part of Iberdrola España's commitment to promote sustainable mobility as a way to combat climate change and achieve more sustainable spaces, free of carbon emissions – thanks to the supply of energy with 100% Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificate (GdOs).
As part of the “Cambia360” programme, Madrid City Council has launched grants for the purchase of electric vehicles of up to €8,500, depending on the vehicle's label. Iberdrola España, as part of its commitment to promoting electric mobility in the city of Madrid and to support this initiative, is offering a special 15% discount, until the end of June, on the charging point and to users who want to install a charging point at their home with the Company and in the city of Madrid.
Electric mobility with 100% renewable energy will enable further decarbonisation, help improve air quality and also contribute to decreasing noise levels. The electric motor is the only technology based on renewable energies that is also efficient, silent, and achieves zero emissions.
In the city of Madrid, the Company also provides daily charging for around 300 electric buses and expects to continue decarbonising more vehicles in the coming months. The mobility plan, launched by the Company in 2016, was pioneer in its implementation. Today, we plan to install more than 100,000 charging points by 2025, including public charging points, residential, companies and car parks.
