Iberdrola España and HOSBEC sign agreement to promote decarbonisation in the regionValencia
- The achievement of Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) and energy efficiency projects will be promoted to improve the competitiveness of hotel and tourism companies in the Valencian Region.

Iberdrola España and HOSBEC, the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of Valencia, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote decarbonisation solutions and Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) among their associates, which will enable companies to improve their competitiveness.
The agreement, signed by the president of HOSBEC, Fede Fuster, and the Commercial Delegate of Iberdrola Spain in Valencia, Joaquín Longares, will enable the members of the hotel association to promote the achievement of the Energy Saving Certificates , which will allow them to monetise and recover part of the cost of the investments made in energy efficiency.
In order to explain how this new mechanism works, it has been agreed to hold information sessions aimed at members who are interested in learning first-hand about this tool. Case studies on the hotel sector will be presented, detailing the actions carried out and explaining the complete process to achieve the CAE.
In addition, the agreement will allow HOSBEC members to access the platform for the integrated management and reporting of decarbonisation in order to carry out a sectoral analysis and help companies develop their decarbonisation plans, which may be based on solutions such as electric vehicle charging points, self-consumption photovoltaic, electrification of heat, energy supply tariffs and other possible actions that can add value.
Iberdrola España continues its collaboration with HOSBEC as an energy partner to contribute to the sector's sustainability plans and energy efficiency objectives and to collaborate with its associates in this context of transition towards a more sustainable and efficient sector by articulating decarbonisation solutions that will contribute to increasing its competitiveness
Saving on energy consumption and paying for it
The Energy Saving Certificate system has arrived in Spain to stay. The essence is to save on energy consumption and, in addition, to charge for it, thanks to the use of the aerotermia , electrification of ovens, heat recovery, monitoring systems and savings or renovation of equipment as long as fossil fuels are not consumed.
This decarbonisation drive is a simple and economical alternative for customers, as it offers SMEs, companies and industries the opportunity to carry out energy efficiency actions with direct and automatic discounts on the same bill.
The possibility of including the monetisation of CAE directly in the price of the products that generate energy savings, and then settling the CAE generated by the performance, is integrated into the wide range of services offered. It should be noted that for every 1 kWh of savings, 1 CAE is achieved and the end-user can receive a consideration if he/she sells the savings obtained for subsequent certification through the CAE system.
