The CEO of Iberdrola España, Mario Ruiz-Tagle, participated this Tuesday in the opening ceremony of ENLIT Europe 25, the largest international trade fair for the energy transition, being held at BEC, the Bilbao exhibition center. During his speech, the CEO of Iberdrola España emphasized that electrification is no longer an option, but an urgent necessity to maintain competitiveness. In this regard, he highlighted that electrical grids are the fundamental pillar to achieve this, as they enable the connection of new demand, improve service, reduce costs, and ensure a robust system.

The CEO of Iberdrola España also sent a message of confidence in Europe's capacity to lead the change: "Electrification is unstoppable. It is key for European industry to maintain its competitiveness. Electrification depends on electrical grids, which are essential to facilitate the connection of demand. To achieve this, we need clear and stable energy policies, predictable regulatory frameworks, and streamlined processes to carry out these investments."

 

The event, which features the presence of leading players in the energy sector, reflects Iberdrola España's commitment to the energy transformation that Europe is experiencing, and especially Spain, which faces the urgent need to electrify key sectors such as industry, transport, and buildings.

Ruiz-Tagle also highlighted the importance of the Basque Country, which is not only the origin and headquarters of the Iberdrola Group, but also a region with an ecosystem of companies, institutions, and talent working together to drive competitiveness and economic growth. "Iberdrola España is proud to actively contribute to this dynamism, thanks to our investments, our purchases, and the employment we generate," he added.
