The CEBEK Board of Directors meets at Iberdrola España's facilities

  • The Board of Directors of the Bizkaia Business Confederation (CEBEK) held its regular September meeting at Iberdrola España's facilities at the Berroeta Corporate Centre in Bilbao.
  • After the meeting, they were able to visit the company's global smart grid hub in the capital of Bizkaia.

The Board of Directors of the Bizkaia Business Confederation-CEBEK held its regular September meeting at Iberdrola España's facilities at the Berroeta Corporate Centre in the Larraskitu neighbourhood of Bilbao.


The  GroupIberdrola, of which Iberdrola España is a part, is Europe's leading utility in terms of capitalisation and one of the two largest in the world. The Basque company has just announced investments of €58 billion for the period 2025-2028 to promote the electrification of the economy and meet the new needs of the electricity grids. Seventy per cent of this investment will go to Electricity Grids, the backbone of electrification. 


At its meeting, the CEBEK Board of Directors examined the current economic and business situation and discussed the items on the agenda.


This was followed by a presentation by Javier Arriola (Director of the Northern Region of i -DE , the  companydistribution of Iberdrola España) on the status and opportunities for electrification in the Basque Country.


Finally, the members of the CEBEK Board of Directors, led by its president Guillermo Buces and accompanied by Asís Canales (President of i -DE Networks, Global Director of Resources and Services and Institutional Delegate of Iberdrola España in the Basque Country, as well as Vice-President of CEBEK), visited the Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub, Iberdrola España's global headquarters for smart grids in the capital of Vizcaya.
