The award was presented by the President of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and received by the Iberdrola Delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Óscar Narros, and the Manager of Iberdrola Renovables Castilla-La Mancha, Amelia Rodríguez

Iberdrola España has been recognised by the Castilla-La Mancha regional government during an institutional event for Education Day 2025 for its contribution to advancing technical training and employability across the region’s education system. The distinction highlights the company’s ongoing collaboration with the Department of Education, Culture and Sport on projects that promote practical learning, innovation, and sustainability.

Among the most notable initiatives is the donation of a nacelle from the Molar del Molinar wind farm (Albacete) to the CIFP Aguas Nuevas in Albacete. This has enabled students on the higher-level Renewable Energy programme to explore wind-generation technology first-hand and acquire practical skills linked to the energy transition. The nacelle is the housing or casing that sits at the top of the wind turbine tower, directly behind the blades. The donated equipment – which measures 6.3 metres long, 2.25 wide and 2.90 metres high and weighs 20.4 tonnes – came from a Gamesa Eólica G47 turbine rated at 660 kW, with a 47-metre rotor diameter and a 45-metre tower.

The recognition, awarded alongside nearly 20 institutions, individuals and companies distinguished in the field of education, was presented by the Castilla-La Mancha regional president, Emiliano García-Page, and the regional minister of Education, Culture and Sport, Amador Pastor Moheda, to Iberdrola Renovables’ head in Castilla-La Mancha, Amelia Rodríguez, and Iberdrola España’s institutional delegate in the region, Óscar Narros.

In the same vein, Iberdrola España is finalising new agreements with the Department of Education for the donation of two additional nacelles: one for the IES Consaburum in Consuegra (Toledo) and another for the IES Luis de Lucena in Guadalajara, further strengthening its commitment to cutting-edge technical education and bringing the energy sector closer to the academic environment.

Since 2022, the company has also maintained a collaboration agreement with the Aguas Nuevas centre in Albacete, through which students complete work placements at Iberdrola España facilities operated by the maintenance contractor. This programme supports youth employability by offering applied training in real working environments, helping prepare the next generation of energy-sector professionals.

Through these initiatives, Iberdrola España is reinforcing its role as a driving force for technical education and sustainability, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and committed to creating opportunities in the regions where it operates.
