The program, which will begin in the 2026–2027 academic year, will combine financial support, mentoring, and internships at companies in the energy sector.
The “Aella” Scholarship is a nationwide initiative.

La Fundación Iberdrola España, a través del Programa Social, ha destinado más de 12 millones de euros a iniciativas sociales en el país y ayudado a un total de 414.546 personas.

Iberdrola España, through its Foundation, will launch a scholarship program in the 2026-2027 academic year aimed at women pursuing intermediate and advanced vocational training programs related to electricity and associated professions, with the goal of facilitating their access to a key sector such as the energy industry.

The initiative, called the Aella Scholarship, was created with the purpose of increasing the presence of women in technical programs and improving their employment opportunities throughout the country. In the case of Extremadura, this scholarship is being launched in collaboration with the installation associations ASINET, ASEMIET, and ASPREMETAL—organizations that share a commitment to promoting the professional qualifications and future of young women in industrial and technological fields, and which will help publicize this scholarship.

Thanks to this partnership, students will gain access to a comprehensive program that combines training, support, and real-world work experience, enabling them to build their confidence, expand their skills, and break into fields where their presence remains limited.

Thus, the program is structured around three main pillars: financial aid for students, a mentoring system led by professional women in the sector, and training internships at specialized companies.

The scholarship is aimed at women enrolled in full-time, on-campus programs in fields related to Electricity and Electronics, Installation and Maintenance, and Energy and Water, including degrees such as Electrical and Automation Systems, Renewable Energy, or Electrotechnical and Automated Systems.

Through this program, ASINET, ASEMIET, ASPREMETAL, and the Iberdrola España Foundation will foster female talent, promote equal opportunities in technical professions, and help “female energy” gain a stronger presence and visibility in the country’s electricity and energy sector.

Over 12 million euros invested in social initiatives

The Iberdrola España Foundation, through its Social Program, has allocated over 12 million euros to social initiatives in the country and helped a total of 414,546 people. Since the launch of this Plan in 2010, the company has supported more than 500 projects in collaboration with over a hundred social organizations, contributing to the fight against child poverty, educational support, and the social integration of children, youth, and women in vulnerable situations. The Social Program has enabled the creation of 1,830 jobs and the participation of 8,538 volunteers.

The Iberdrola España Foundation also focuses its activities on its scholarship program in the fields of energy, biodiversity, and the environment; on supporting research into issues related to energy and climate change; and on the cultural sphere, with a focus on the restoration and maintenance of the cultural and artistic heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.
