Iberdrola España continues to expand its network of solar communities in Andalusia with 38 installations in the province of Seville. With them, more than 5,700 families will benefit from 100% local renewable energy without having to make any investment or have their own roof. These solar communities have a total installed capacity of 3.495 kWp and are in the municipalities of Seville, Bollullos de la Mitación, Pedrera, Coria del Río, La Algaba, Dos Hermanas, Osuna, Villamanrique de la Condesa, Fuentes de Andalucía, Mairena del Alcor, Carmona, Aznalcóllar, Valencina de la Concepción, Alcalá del Río, Viso del Alcor, Alcalá de Guadaíra, Villanueva del Ariscal, Utrera, Los Palacios y Villafranca, Villaverde del Río, Écija and Arahal.

The solar communities allow neighbours located within two kilometres of the installation to reduce their electricity consumption by up to 40%, also contributing to the area’s sustainability. Iberdrola España is responsible for the entire installation, maintenance and management, allowing collective self-consumption accessible to all types of households.

More than 1,000 solar communities in Spain

Iberdrola España recently hit the milestone of 1,000 solar communities in Spain, providing access to self-consumption to more than 100,000 families. In Andalusia, there are now more than 120 installations in operation, consolidating the company's leadership in this energy model.

The installations are located on the roofs of various buildings such as factories, schools, municipal buildings and shopping areas and each of them will prevent the emission of up to 640 tonnes of CO₂ over a period of 30 years.
