Iberdrola España trains the Guardia Civil in Castellón to respond to risk situations involving electrical installations

Training session on electrical hazards for members of the Civil Guard in Castellón

Iberdrola España, as part of its ongoing collaboration with the State Security Forces and Corps, has delivered a series of technical training sessions to members of the Civil Guard Command in Castellón on the risks and safety measures associated with work carried out on or near electrical installations.


The opening session was attended by the Deputy Government Delegate in Castellón, Antonia García; the Chief Colonel of the Civil Guard Command in the province, Alfonso Martín; Iberdrola España’s Delegate in the Valencian Region, Ibán Molina; the Regional Head of Security Spain, Laureano Arias; and the Area Manager of i-DE, José Miguel Martínez.


The training included a presentation on how to identify electrical installations and understand their topology, as well as basic electrical concepts, the effects of electric current on the human body, risk prevention in work involving electrical installations, and appropriate actions to be taken in or around such facilities. The sessions also addressed cases of electricity fraud and the social issues they are generating.


The practical component consisted of a visit to Iberdrola’s combined-cycle power plant in CastellónDuring the visit, Plant Manager Vicente Casanova explained how the facility operates, allowing participants to gain first-hand insight into different types of power generation installations.


Through initiatives such as this, the company once again demonstrates its commitment to training, prevention and the responsibilities arising from them, with the ultimate goal of fostering greater awareness among the State Security Forces and Corps of risks that may be invisible to the untrained eye.
