Segovia enjoys sports to the rhythm of the Tour Universo Mujer, supported by Iberdrola España

Segovia has become the 30th city to host the Tour Universo Mujer
With the majesty of the aqueduct in the backdrop, the Women's Universe Tour, sponsored by Iberdrola España, inaugurated a new stop this Saturday in Segovia, which will become the epicentre of the city's sporting epicentre over the weekend. The event was attended by Jesús Garrido, Sports Councillor of Segovia City Council, Ruth Llorente, head of the Territorial Service of Culture and Tourism of Segovia, Noelia Florín, from the Sponsorship Department at Iberdrola España, Jorge Carretero, Commissioner of the European City Segovia 2025, Sara Hurtado, Olympic skater and Rubén González, director of the Tour. Numerous athletes also came to the Tour's central stage to immortalise one of the great moments of the afternoon. Among them were the U22 World Champion and Frontenis Absolute World Champion, Leire Barona, and the current European Poomsae Champion, Mei Ling Duque.
Segovia is the 30th city to host the Women’s Universe Tour, Europe's largest free outdoor sporting event for the general public. The Tour aims to promote women's sport as a basis for the recognition of women in society, showcasing the hard work, challenges and successes achieved by our sportswomen over the years. This goal that was more than met by the spectacular response from both the federations and clubs as well as the visitors, who enjoyed the different activities. More than 5,000 people came down to the aqueduct esplanade, including athletes and visitors, for sport and fun.
The afternoon started with a zumba class to get us in shape. Then the local urban dance school Blanca de la Asunción showcased the talent of the young women of the city. There was no shortage of exhibitions, where RM Sport and Jansu Gym shone in taekwondo. Straight after that, the central stage of the Tour hosted a capoeira demonstration by the Muzenza Group, led by Flavio. A physical, artistic and cultural display that amazed the many fans who gathered at the aqueduct.
The final part of Saturday was reserved for Jessica Expósito. The zumba queen enjoys a legion of fans, who once again packed the stage area. Sixty minutes of choreographies to mark a new milestone in terms of participation and involvement. Meanwhile, the sports activities welcomed numerous onlookers who tried their hands at archery, table tennis, fencing and toad in the hole, among other sports. The Dreamfit gym closed the event going full steam. It designed a Latin masterclass to squeeze out our very last bit of energy.

Reducing the gender gap in sport is a commitment to women's equality through excellence and creates role models for girls, from their practice of physical activity and sport at all levels of the education system, to show them that the path to federated and high performance sport is also one they can go down.
