Iberdrola España once again supports Zamora’s Charity Zangarun, for people with a heart
- The Zamora town of Ricobayo was the setting for this charity event, which attracted more than 300 athletes from all over Castilla and León, as well as Galicia and Portugal and, of course, from the province of Zamora
- The more than €3,000 raised by this collaboration will go entirely to the Asociación Corriendo con el Corazón por Hugo
- Once again this year, the initiative has received special support from Iberdrola España, the Muelas del Pan Town Council, the Zamora Provincial Council and the Caja Rural de Zamora Foundation
- The company wanted to highlight this initiative’s fundraising and how it falls in line with the SDGs integrated into its business strategy, focusing on objective number 3, improving the health and well-being of Zamora residents through physical activity and sport

The Charity Zangarun 2025 returned this Sunday to the Zamora municipality of Ricobayo, which welcomed more than 300 athletes and hikers who supported this initiative again this year, an initiative which combines mountain sports with the promotion of tourism in one of the most beautiful and emblematic places in the province.
This charity event, which received special support from Iberdrola España, the Muelas del Pan Town Council, the Zamora Provincial Council and the Caja Rural de Zamora Foundation, raised around €3,000 for research into rare diseases.
The proceeds from this year of one of the sporting competitions that attracts the most support from trail running enthusiasts have been donated in their entirety to the Corriendo con el Corazón por Hugo Association.
The town of Ricobayo was the setting for this sporting event, which welcomed participants from all over Castilla and León, as well as Galicia and Portugal and, of course, from Zamora, once again supporting the sport for people with a heart.
In addition, Iberdrola España wanted to highlight the fundraising nature of this initiative and how it falls in line with the SDGs integrated into its business strategy, focusing on objective number 3, improving the health and well-being of the people of Zamora through physical activity and sport.
The Head of Institutional Relations of Iberdrola España in Castilla y León, Ignacio Antolin, wanted to reiterate “the company's commitment to the province of Zamora due to its deep ties to the area, where it was born more than 120 years ago, and from where it drives the energy transition towards renewable and competitive energies that promote rural, sustainable and social and environmentally responsible development”.
