- The proceeds from this collaboration will go towards the seven AECC Valladolid Predoctoral Grants

Iberdrola España and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) have once again joined forces in Valladolid for a new edition of Spain's largest solidarity march. Thousands of people gathered this Sunday in the gardens of El Campo Grande to take part in an initiative that, year after year, turns public commitment into support for research and for people living with the disease.
The 15th Valladolid March Against Cancer, which received special support from Iberdrola España as main sponsor for the 11th consecutive year, brought a sea of green to the city's central streets, with 55,032 registered participants, exceeding all expectations.
The proceeds from this collaboration, which forms part of the agreement between the two organisations to promote both research aimed at improving cancer diagnosis and treatment and public awareness initiatives to combat the disease, will go towards the seven AECC Valladolid Predoctoral Grants this year.
Lending their support to this initiative once more were, among others, the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Valladolid, Artemio Domínguez; the city's mayor, Jesús Julio Carnero; the president of the Valladolid Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar; Iberdrola España's Commercial Director in Castile and León, Tomás Nistal; and researcher Beatriz Gutiérrez, recipient of the 2026 AECC Predoctoral Grant, among others, once again lent their support to the initiative.
In addition, taking advantage of this charity sporting event, Iberdrola España wanted to highlight that one of the most innovative initiatives developed under the agreement is Together Against Cancer, a project through which Iberdrola Esàá offers its customers the opportunity to support the association by committing to double the amount they donate each month through their bills. This initiative is now joined by a new way to participate through the Mi Iberdrola loyalty programme, which will allow customers to donate their accumulated balance to the Spanish Association Against Cancer to continue promoting research and advancing towards better diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
"In such a special year for the Iberdrola Group, in which we are celebrating 125 years of history linked to Castile and León and Valladolid, we want to continue demonstrating that our commitment goes beyond energy. Supporting initiatives such as Valladolid March Against Cancer means helping to improve people's lives, promoting research and standing alongside those who need it most. It is a great satisfaction to see, once again, the extraordinary response of the people of Valladolid in support of this cause," said Tomás Nistal, Iberdrola España's Commercial Director in Castile and León.
Iberdrola España and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) have a longstanding relationship that was consolidated in 2015 with the signing of a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting cancer research. The company's ongoing commitment, together with that of its customers, has made Iberdrola the association's leading private-sector partner, contributing to the advancement of research projects and supporting patients and their families.
