Iberdrola España continues to expand its portfolio of long-term supply agreements, having recently signed several five-year PPAs in Spain and Portugal.

Iberdrola España and MediaMarkt are taking another step forward in electrification. The two companies have signed an agreement to supply renewable energy to 100% of MediaMarkt's stores across Spain from 2028 to 2030. The agreement covers the supply of more than 160 GWh of energy with guarantees of origin (GOs).

The agreement enables MediaMarkt to secure long-term renewable energy at a competitive price, in line with its strategy to promote stability and greater visibility over future energy costs. It also allows the company to make progress towards its sustainability and electrification goals.

Iberdrola España offers businesses long-term energy solutions that provide greater stability and predictability in energy prices. These include PPAs, a market in which the company has maintained its leading position in Europe for the third consecutive year, according to the Pexap Renewables Market Outlook 2026 report. Iberdrola España continues to expand its portfolio of long-term supply agreements, having recently signed several five-year PPAs in Spain and Portugal in 2026 with customers in sectors including food, automotive, agriculture and construction materials, among others, totalling 980 GWh. Beyond Iberia, Iberdrola España has also expanded its PPA portfolio this year with a new agreement in Italy for 34 MW and another in Australia for 130 MW.

David Martínez, Iberdrola España's Customer Business Director, said: "This agreement reflects how more and more companies are choosing to incorporate renewable energy into their operations to advance electrification, which has proven to be the most efficient way forward. At Iberdrola España, we continue to support our customers with energy solutions that combine flexibility and security of supply, driving the energy transition together."

Amedeo Miranda, MediaMarkt España's Property Solutions Manager, said: "At MediaMarkt, we consider sustainability to be part of our business and the customer experience. Supplying renewable energy with guarantees of origin to our stores in Spain represents a concrete step towards reducing emissions associated with our activities and strengthening the stability and efficiency of our operations."

These long-term contracts form part of both companies' commitment to fostering stable partnerships, advancing electrification across the industrial and business sectors and contributing to a more secure, competitive and sustainable energy system.
