Iberdrola España and Airzone, a company specialising in climate control, have signed an agreement that will enable both companies to offer innovative services and  products so that their customers can manage their home energy with maximum efficiency without compromising on comfort. Iberdrola España has gained a new partner to promote electrification, and Airzone takes a significant leap forward in energy management.

The new products, which will be launched in early 2026, will include air conditioning control and zoning systems, electrical energy and digital energy management and monitoring solutions. The aim of all these developments will be to put technology, connectivity and data analysis at the service of efficiency, comfort and a more flexible electricity grid.

Consumption measurement will be a priority so the new solutions designed by the companies will provide access to hourly consumption graphs for air conditioning, heating and hot water (DHW), as well as instantaneous power monitoring, which will make it easier to analyse actual usage and maintain comfort levels, while also saving on bills.

‘This agreement with Airzone represents a major step towards empowering customers in the energy transition. By combining our strengths and leveraging on electrification and technology, we can offer innovative joint solutions’.

To help with the efficient use of the electricity grid and support the economy’s electrification and decarbonisation, one of the solutions will allow use to be automatically shifted to the hours of highest renewable energy generation, which in turn will translate into lower energy costs, while always guaranteeing the customer's usage needs.

With this same objective in mind, air conditioning operation will be optimised and the interaction between generation systems (heat pumps) and emitters in homes (radiators, underfloor heating, fan coils, etc.) will be improved.

The agreement between the two companies will serve to create new energy tariffs based on climate control to optimise the energy costs associated with the use of heat pumps.

This agreement with Airzone represents a major step towards empowering customers in the energy transition. By combining our strengths and leveraging on electrification and technology, we can offer innovative joint solutions that not only ensure energy autonomy but also promote savings and improve comfort while helping the system advance in its transition’, said Víctor Carballo, head of Smart Climate at Iberdrola Smart Solutions.

‘We want our customers to enjoy maximum comfort with the best conditions, while contributing to a cleaner and more efficient electricity system. Flexible demand management, which we already apply in electric mobility, will now also be available in air conditioning, promoting the use of renewables and decarbonisation’, says Carlos Pascual, head of energy management solutions at Iberdrola

Air conditioning, heating and domestic hot water systems account for more than 50% of energy consumption in homes and offices. With proper regulation and control, they can be operated more flexibly by adapting production to times when electricity generation is more renewable or the electricity grids are under less stress. Properly managing the heat pump in relation to user behaviour allows energy costs to be optimised while maintaining comfort standards’, says Manuel Delgado, Director of Innovation at Airzone.
