Iberdrola España and Airbus have advanced their commitment to the electrification of the aeronautical industry with the implementation of a strategic agreement to install and operate nearly 500 charging points for electric vehicles at the aerospace company's production centres in Spain. This partnership reinforces both companies' commitment to more sustainable, efficient and innovative mobility.
Managed using smart digital solutions, the chargers optimise consumption and actively help cut back emissions. They are also integrated into a platform so they can be operated from mobile phones, improving the experience of Airbus employees, visitors and internal fleets.
This agreement consolidates a partnership aimed at transforming mobility in the industrial environment that began in 2019.

‘The agreement with Airbus is a new milestone in our commitment to accelerate the electrification of transport through efficient, smart and sustainable charging infrastructure‘, said David Martínez, director of customer business at Iberdrola España.
Representatives from Iberdrola España visited the Airbus facilities to see the progress of the project first-hand and strengthen the partnership between the two companies. Participating in the tour on behalf of Airbus were Eduardo Carrasco, Head of Energy and Waste Management at Airbus facilities in Spain (Head of Procurement), Raúl Patón, Energy Manager, and Adrián Garijo, Energy Manager. Representing Iberdrola España were Pablo de Regoyos (Head of Smart Mobility for Businesses and Public Administrations) and Pablo Trincado, both from the Smart Mobility area, as well as Patricia Blanco (Head of Key Account Managers) and Aurora Ortega, both from the Large Clients and PPAs area.
Iberdrola España leads the way in charging across all power segments, with more than 80,000 points installed in Spain. The company is positioned as a benchmark in sustainable mobility solutions for homes, businesses and public spaces. Of these points, more than 10,000 are public and operational in the country, with the capacity to serve one million electric vehicles.
Among the public charging points, more than 2,900 are high-power. Nearly 1,500 are ultra-fast and are managed through the Iberdrola | bp pulse partnership. All are powered by 100% renewable energy with a guarantee of origin certificate.
