Iberdrola España has increased the discount under its Renove scheme from 70% to 85% for replacing gas boilers with aerothermal systems
- It offers a discount of up to €5,000 on the price, plus an additional €1,000 via the Mi Iberdrola balance and finances the remaining amount over 24 months interest-free
- To facilitate tax deductions it provides free energy performance certificates before and after installation

Iberdrola España, with the aim of making renewable energy more accessible and facilitating access to new technologies associated with the energy transition, is redoubling its commitment to aerothermal systems and improving its Renove scheme for another year. The energy company is offering a discount of up to €6,000 until 1 December for replacing a gas or diesel boiler with an aerothermal system, and provides a total discount of up to 85%. For the remaining amount, the company offers interest-free finance over 24 months.
The breakdown of the offer consists of a direct discount of €1,400, plus €3,600 in Energy Saving Certificates (ESC) — €1,440 for those living in a warm climate and €2,160 in a moderate climate — which are also deducted from the installation cost from the outset. The company is also adding €1,000 in 'Mi Iberdrola' credit to the offer, which can be applied to the electricity bill.
Furthermore to facilitate access to existing tax relief (up to €9,000 for detached houses and €3,000 for flats) the energy company offers free of charge both the energy performance certificate required prior to installation and the one required afterwards which are necessary to claim the tax relief on your income tax return.
Thus a 90 square metres flat will be able to install its new aerothermal system for €2,800 — down from an initial cost of around €12,000 — after applying the discounts, rebates and tax deductions. Meanwhile a 150 square metres terraced house can switch from diesel to aerothermal heating for €2,300 down from the initial cost of €13,200.
Aerothermal systems are heat pumps that extract energy from the air via a thermodynamic cycle, providing heating, cooling and hot water. Beyond reducing emissions compared to gas and diesel boilers, as it is a renewable energy source, it eliminates dependence on fossil fuels, thereby avoiding exposure to price fluctuations caused by external circumstances, such as those currently resulting from the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Furthermore as it is a more efficient technology it can reduce energy consumption by 70% compared with traditional combustion boilers if underfloor heating is installed and by up to 40% if the heat distribution system consists of radiators.
