Iberdrola España has launched a new feature of its Advanced Smart Assistant that rewards households that adapt their use of heating, cooling and hot water. Specifically, the system manages this automatically, respecting the parameters set by customers, so they do not have to change their habits or give up the comfort of their homes.

The initiative, supported by artificial intelligence, allows heating, cooling and hot water systems to adapt their operation to take advantage of the times when electricity is cheaper, that is, when there is more renewable generation. In this way, the technology takes care of managing the home’s consumption and the customer gets better financial terms in return.

Specifically, adopting this measure can generate savings of between €100 and €300 a year, depending on the characteristics of the home, the equipment installed and the consumption managed. For a 100-square-metre home with four occupants and air conditioning, the saving is around €100. For the same home with an aerothermal system, the saving rises to €300 a year.

“With this new feature, energy flexibility is no longer a distant concept and becomes real savings for households. We want technology to take care of optimising energy so that customers can enjoy their homes with the same comfort at a better price,” says Victor Carballo, head of Smart Clima at Iberdrola España.

The solution is initially aimed at installations that have Airzone devices, which are compatible with most heating and cooling systems, and that are integrated with the Advanced Smart Assistant. To make this technology more accessible, Iberdrola España fits Airzone devices as standard in its aerothermal systems, so that they can benefit from intelligent, automatic, savings-focused energy management from day one.

The company offers a comprehensive package for the installation of aerothermal systems, including electricity supply, installation and commissioning on especially competitive terms thanks to the use of Energy Savings Certificates (CAE), special promotions such as the Renove Campaign, which currently offers discounts of up to 85% of the total cost, and a range of fee-free financing options.
