Iberdrola España installs more than 100 charging points a day
- It has surpassed 97,000 charging points installed, of which more than 85,000 are in homes and businesses and more than 12,000 are for public use
- The company is responsible for installing one in five chargers in Spain and for supplying their energy

Iberdrola España continues to accelerate the roll-out of infrastructure to facilitate electric mobility and now installs more than 100 charging points every day across homes, businesses and public spaces. The company puts more than 2,000 chargers a month into operation for individual customers, nearly 100 a month for businesses and more than 200 public charging points a month.
This rate of growth has enabled the energy company to reach more than 85,000 chargers installed in the private sphere, across private homes and businesses. In addition, there are more than 12,000 public charging points. Altogether, it has surpassed 97,000 charging points installed, strengthening an infrastructure that meets the needs of drivers both at home and at work and on the move.
The growth of the company’s infrastructure is accompanied by record-breaking progress in the sector. In September, all sales records were broken and, according to the DGT, four in every ten private cars registered were plug-in vehicles. The volatility of fossil fuels, the competitiveness of electrification and increasingly affordable prices for plug-in models have encouraged people to take this step.
Home charging is the preferred option, as it offers users great convenience and savings of 90% compared with combustion-engine vehicles. In addition, the use of public charging is accelerating owing to the increase in long-distance journeys, which are increasingly feasible with new vehicle models offering ranges of up to 700km. Iberdrola España, with a share of more than 20% of the country’s public chargers, receives more than 10,000 charges a day and has already accumulated more than three million in 2026.
These figures are boosting activity in the installation sector. Iberdrola España alone, responsible for installing one in five chargers in the country and for supplying their energy, provides work for more than 100 installation companies and more than 1,000 professionals, further evidence that the electrification of mobility acts as an engine of economic development and of technological and industrial employment.
