17 solar communities in Cáceres benefiting 2,290 families

In Cáceres, 17 solar communities have been established, allowing more than 2,290 families to benefit from a reduction in their electricity bill and access to renewable self-consumption without the need to install their own system or make any investment.

In total, these communities consist of nearly 3,000 solar panels with a total capacity of 1,347 kWp and an annual generation of 1,930,000 kWh, which will prevent the emission of nearly 400 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. Cáceres: Spain's first solar city and the first to use batteries

Cáceres is a leader in solar communities throughout the country, being the first city in Spain where all residents can access this type of energy self-consumption, as they are located within two kilometers of an installation.

Moreover, Cáceres has also become the first city in the country to incorporate a battery storage system into an existing solar community, allowing for the optimization of the energy generated, adapting to the time periods of higher domestic consumption, and making it possible to use solar energy even at night.
