Iberdrola pays tribute to the national rhythmic gymnastics team after their world gold medal and qualification for Los Angeles 2028

The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola, Ignacio Galán, has welcomed the members of the national rhythmic gymnastics team to congratulate them on winning gold at the 2026 Frankfurt World Championships, a historic achievement that comes 35 years after Spain's last world title and secures qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The event was attended by the President of the Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation, Jesús Carballo; the national team captain, Inés Bergua; and gymnasts Salma Solaun, Andrea Fernández, Andrea Corral, Marina Cortelles and Lucía Muñoz, as well as the national coach, Ana Pelaz.
During the meeting, Galán conveyed his congratulations to the athletes, the coaching staff and the Federation for an achievement built on effort, commitment and the ability to push beyond limits. He also highlighted that the Spanish team is an example of how perseverance, teamwork and belief in a shared goal make it possible to reach extraordinary milestones and inspire new generations of athletes.
Ignacio Galán also announced that Iberdrola will provide the national team with the leotards to compete at the Los Angeles Games, in 2028. The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola stressed that the company wishes to accompany these athletes in that Olympic challenge too and to be part of a new chapter in the history of Spanish rhythmic gymnastics. With this initiative, Iberdrola becomes the first company to drive the creation and delivery of competition leotards to the gymnasts.
The close relationship between Iberdrola and the national rhythmic gymnastics team is the result of the sustained support the company has provided for years to this discipline and to women's sport. Captain Inés Bergua is part of the Iberdrola Ambassadors programme, whilst the national selector, Alejandra Quereda, was an ambassador for the company during her time as an active athlete.

Iberdrola is a benchmark in the promotion of women's sport in Spain, a field in which it blazed a trail more than a decade ago. It currently supports 35 national federations, lends its name to more than 100 competitions and backs more than 800,000 registered female athletes through its agreements with the various federations. In addition, through the Iberdrola Ambassadors programme it brings together 35 elite athletes to promote the social recognition of women in sport.
