Iberdrola España has launched a new augmented reality feature to accelerate the rollout of air-source heat pumps in homes. The new solution brings this technology closer to users by addressing one of the main questions that arises when considering an air-source heat pump: where to install it.


To help customers answer this question in a simple and visual way, the company has developed a new augmented reality feature. By scanning a QR code available on the Iberdrola Clientes website, anyone can see in 3D how the air-source heat pump units would look when installed in their own home.


The solution allows users to visualise the dimensions of the units and their most suitable location both inside and outside the home, enabling them to make a more informed and confident decision about the installation. 

Innovative solutions to promote air-source heat pumps in Spain

In addition to this new feature, the company offers a range of tools to promote heating and cooling solutions powered by air-source heat pumps. Working with different manufacturers and suppliers, Iberdrola España offers the latest solutions on the market, tailored to different types of homes, including those with limited space. These include indoor units that can be installed beneath a kitchen worktop, as well as monobloc systems that integrate all the components into the outdoor unit, leaving only a hot water tank inside the home.

To make air-source heat pumps more affordable and facilitate access to available grants and subsidies, Iberdrola España manages all the resources available at any given time, deducting the amount associated with Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) from the initial price. This can reduce the cost of an installation with the company by up to 80%.
