ATuAire and Margube are collaborating to help companies in Álava benefit from public aid under the Álava Innova-Descarboniza 2026 programme, which is open until Monday 16 March.
The entities facilitate the calculation of carbon footprints and the design and implementation of decarbonisation plans.

ATuAire, an Iberdrola España company specialising in comprehensive solutions that are up to 100% financed for the decarbonisation of heat using electric heat pumps (aerothermal energy), is collaborating with Margube, a consultancy specialising in sustainability and a verifying body for the Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) system, to offer companies in Álava the opportunity to begin their decarbonisation process by calculating their carbon footprint and drawing up an Emissions Reduction Plan, making the most of the aid available in the Basque Autonomous Region.

Companies in Álava currently have a strategic opportunity to advance in sustainability and energy efficiency thanks to the Álava Innova — Descarboniza 2026 aid programme, a programme of grants for projects aimed at reducing emissions and improving the energy performance of organisations.

The Álava Innova — Descarboniza 2026 programme, which runs until Monday 16 March, subsidises part of the external consultancy costs associated with this type of project, as well as the internal costs of the project and investments in machinery or energy improvement measures (process optimisation, reduction of energy consumption, electrification or technological changes). The grant is awarded on a competitive basis, with projects being evaluated and scored according to their quality and scope.

Companies can access different levels of funding depending on the score obtained. Projects that obtain between 50 and 79 points can receive up to 30 per cent of the subsidy for external consultancy expenses, 30 per cent for internal expenses and up to 20 per cent for investments. In addition decarbonisation projects that exceed 60 points can benefit from an additional 20 per cent on top of the subsidy granted.

In the case of projects that reach 80 points or more, the intensity of the aid increases, allowing up to 40% of external consultancy expenses to be financed, in addition to maintaining up to 30% for internal expenses and 20% for investments, which represents a significant opportunity to promote the business energy transition.

Many of these actions can generate Energy Saving Certificates (CAE), a mechanism that allows the energy savings obtained to be monetised, reducing the total cost of the efficiency investments to be made.

Thanks to this collaboration between ATuAire and Margube, companies can count on comprehensive support throughout the process. This support includes calculating the organisation's carbon footprint, preparing the project for the grant application, drawing up the emissions reduction plan and comprehensive management of the EECs.

The combination of public subsidies, CAEs and project financing with comprehensive solutions, such as those offered by ATuAire for the replacement of fossil fuel boilers with electric heat pumps, allows companies in Álava to begin their decarbonisation process at the lowest possible cost. In this way, they can access measures that reduce their energy costs and improve their competitiveness while anticipating future regulatory requirements and complying with the increasingly frequent and mandatory requirements of customers and supply chains.
