In the public sector, electricity supply contracts have been signed with 27 government agencies, thereby strengthening the company’s position in the institutional sector.
Renewable generation
In recent months, Iberdrola España has built the Finca San Juan wind farm, located in Arico on the island of Tenerife. With a capacity of 17.3 MW, it produces clean, renewable energy equivalent to the consumption of nearly 16,000 households, which is roughly the population of La Orotava. Its annual production reaches 56 GWh, preventing 28,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Also in Tenerife, Iberdrola España operates the Chimiche wind farm. Developed in partnership with a group of small local businesses, it has a capacity of 18.3 megawatts (MW). Currently, the wind farm supplies clean energy to a population equivalent to 15,000 households, preventing the emission of 33,000 tons of CO2 per year. In addition, it has operated its first photovoltaic plant in the Canary Islands since 2023. With 7 MW, Llanos Pelos III, in Fuerteventura, supplies clean energy to more than 4,000 households. The plant has received the Sustainability Seal from the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF) for all the environmental measures implemented in the project.
Cantabria: Iberdrola España contributes €130 million

Cañoneras wind farm in Cantabria
Iberdrola España generated an economic impact of 130M euros in 2025 in Cantabria, representing a 19% increase over the previous year. Thus, the company has contributed approximately 240M euros over two years.
The company made a tax contribution to the region of nearly 58 million euros in 2025 and tripled its investment to reach 16 million euros in 2025.
Additionally, Iberdrola España made purchases from 41 Cantabrian suppliers in 2025.
Construction of the El Escudo wind farm in Cantabria began in July of last year. The facility, which will have a capacity of 101 MW, will generate renewable energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 95,300 households and prevent the emission of 45,000 tons of CO2 per year.
Furthermore, it is the first wind farm in Spain to implement BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, a methodology that allows for detailed monitoring of construction progress and, among other aspects, the implementation of measures to reduce environmental impact. This digital model is being developed by the Cantabrian company INGECID, affiliated with the School of Civil Engineering in Santander.
The project has a budget of 120M, and a significant portion of the construction budget is allocated to local companies, creating up to 200 jobs during peak periods. Thus, the wind farm drives a broad value chain among local companies in various fields such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, logistics, maintenance, safety, and telecommunications, as well as professionals responsible for supervising the work to prevent impacts on nature or cultural heritage.
Furthermore, Iberdrola España has been implementing its measures to support the local community since before construction began. In this regard, it has funded English classes and academic tutoring for the children of Campoo de Yuso. Furthermore, once the wind farm becomes operational, residents will be able to benefit from the best electricity rates in Spain, as well as a series of other measures aimed at improving quality of life and economic activity to help stem the depopulation of these rural areas.
La Rioja: Iberdrola España increases its contribution to nearly €90M

Paletones Substation in La Rioja
The company has established itself as one of the top contributors to the region. In fact, its tax contribution increased by more than 8% in 2025, exceeding 35 million euros.
Iberdrola España made purchases in 2025 from more than 50 suppliers in La Rioja.
In La Rioja, i-DE, Iberdrola España's distribution company, once again closed the past fiscal year with the highest standards of electricity supply quality. The company manages over 4,560 km of low- and medium-voltage lines and over 590 km of high-voltage lines in the region. It also operates 2,542 active transformer stations and 40 substations.
The distributor maintains a modern, digitized network in the region, equipped to meet the needs and challenges posed by the electrification of the economy and to provide better service to citizens as we move toward a more sustainable, competitive, and resilient economy.
Iberdrola España recognizes that electrical infrastructure is key to addressing the new challenges of the energy transition, with the goal of decarbonizing the economy, promoting distributed electricity generation, and improving the quality of supply.
In fact, Iberdrola España and the Government of La Rioja have renewed the agreement for the protection of birdlife, which will allow for the adaptation of more than 250 utility poles over three years. These measures are part of the latest three-year action agreement that both entities signed in 2024 to adapt power poles with the aim of improving bird protection through actions designed to prevent bird incidents on power lines located in so-called “protection zones.”
